VIPowerNet Customer Information
- Your account will be activated within 1-4 hrs.
after it has been received. Assume your first choice unless contacted
by us.
- Please ask for a copy of our setup CD to set
up your connection. The CD will: -set up a VIPowerNet icon on your
desktop to use every time you want to connect -setup your default
email program to receive and send email
- If a CD is not available,
the "Quick Configuration" sheet
will offer step by step instructions on how to setup a manual connection.
- You
must provide a login username, email username, and password. The
password must be 5-14 characters long. The login and email username
cannot have dots or characters. None can have any spaces.
- Your login
username and password will be in small letters unless specified
over the phone with the helpdesk. They are case sensitive, so when
typing them in make sure your "capslock" key
is not on and you are not typing Capitals instead.
- The CD should
not be ran more than once to establish connection. Make sure you
type the usernames and password correctly when the CD prompts for
them.
- You can obtain email through Nestscape Communicator,
Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, or our
very own Message Center(which is already setup for you) just click
on the Message Center link on this page here http:///www.vipowernet.net
. In fact almost any email program could be configured to get your
mail.
- If you chose a different email username than
your login username on your application, then that is the username
for your mail account and thus you will have 2 usernames, one for
dialing-in and one for email(most people choose the same login
for both).
- The helpdesk can fax or email any instructions
for configuration for most of these programs or you could obtain
them from our "help" link
from our homepage above.
- To connect, click on the VIPowerNet icon
on your desktop, make sure your username and password read correctly
and press the "connect" button.
- After you have connected,
open your browser(Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator) to "surf" the
internet.
- Help Desk Hours are M-F 8am to 10pm and Saturdays
9am to 2pm.
- Your bill will be sent to your free vitelcom.net
email account unless another email address is specified
